follow every link. Stay focused on what you are doing.

Domain names are typically paid for on a yearly subscription basis. If you decide you no longer need the name, the you will need to go to the domain website and manually terminate the subscription. Web hosting comes in many different flavors. There are sites that will do it for “free” meaning they want to put advertisements on your site. That may be okay if you are doing a family blog but typically not for business.
Companies that do web hosting provide a number of services. How much they charge on a monthly basis typically relates to their service level. For example, some services, like Hostgator, provide 24 hour online chat for technical questions. If you have an important business, this may be a good option for you. Other web hosting services, like Cheap Web Hosting offer a one year plan at a very low price.
Another factor in your decision can be the size of your site and the bandwith requirements. If you plan to host video you need to factor that in your decision as to which web hosting service you choose. Amazon provides a server service eZs3 to provide hosting for large amounts of video. I am getting ready to start my article marketing campaign using a product called Video Cash Explosion. For only $97 it is a great way to get started in article marketing.
The concept is simple: you write and submit many articles on a topic to a multitude of article sites. A few people reading your article will click through to your website and you show a video that relates to the Clickbank product you are promoting.
You will need additional software to really make this idea work. The most expensive (and necessary) is Camtasia which costs around $300. Generally you would run it in conjungtion with Microsoft Frontpage, which you may also need to buy. Additionally, you will need several
software programs that automate the article creation and submission process.
Basically, you setup a website for each Clickbank ebook you are promoting. That website will have a Camtasia video on it promoting the book. You will need to purchase web hosting and domains to do this. Shannon Lueck does a great job of explaining this in a set of howto video’s.
To be successful, if you are a raw ‘newbie’, you will have a learning period to get up to speed on the software. Shannon does help out significantly with a set of videos, but in reality, you will still have to learn the software. Depending on your technical skill, this could take a few weeks to become proficient. It is a good program and I recommend it.
As a newbie discovering the world of online marketing you will come across the concept of ‘article marketing’. It is often used in conjungtion with Clickbank ebooks and can be a good money maker. There are many websites that host ‘articles’ submitted by authors (you) and are searchable from the main search engines.
Articles are also often included in blogs and newsletters as a source of content. Writing articles, short topics of 500 – 1000 words is an excellent way to get started on the web. I am doing that with the help of a program called Video Cash Explosion which is highlighted in the sidebar.
If you get into article marketing you will come across one of the main websites at ezinearticles.com. You want to become a member. They have help section of the how to’s of article marketing that include tips for linking back to your website. (Everyone expects the purpose of any article is to link back to a website to sell you something!). Read through all the articles and it will give you a good idea of what you are up against.
Now, of course, there are automated programs to generate articles. And there are programs to submit articles to hundres’s of websites. Not a surprise there! The bottom line: you make a title rich in keywords, write a short article with original content on your subject and include a link back to your website. As you look around the web you will see many variations of this theme.

This is a great video for a newbie. It gives you step by step instructions on how to setup domain forwarding. You don’t even need your own website setup to do this technique. You have probably already discovered the concept of finding ‘niche markets’ as the way to success. For starters you can do a Google or Yahoo search on a few words that describe a product you would like to sell and see what you get. Probably a million hits!
Needless to say, there are tools out there, free and paid, that you can use to help you narrow down your choices. Usually you will need at least 3 keywords or maybe 4 which is recommended. More than that and you narrow the search to much and people won’t find you.
Here is a tool you can download for free and try. It is called Good Keywords and you can find it at http://www.goodkeywords.com/. Go ahead and download it and give it a try. You can see that it is designed to make it easier to come up with the right combination of keywords for your marketing niche. Note that when you use a lot of keywords in a pharse that is call a ‘longtailed’ keyword.
Another tool is web based Word Tracker which you can find at http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/. It is another resource for you. What you are looking for is a fairly specific combination of keywords that still yields a fairly large number of hits. The hits are, of course, your competition. But that is the challenge of keyword marketing in a nutshell.
You MUST embrace video. It is the absolute must do with Web 2.0 online marketing and sales. Everything is going video. If you haven’t already, go to Youtube and set up your account. We’ll have more to speak about on video in later posts.

Still in the process of getting the pages looking the way I want. If you want to do your own blog you will want to use WordPress, which you can get for free from http://wordpress.org/. I think it is the most commonly used blog on the web.
However, it take a little effort to get to know how to use it fully. There are a lot of features. The way the blog looks visually is called a theme. There are many free themes out there, however, if you use them then you need to do a bit of customization to get it just right for your use. This takes a bit of knowledge.
You will learn about plug-in’s and widgets. You will also find that many of the ‘pro’ marketeers have their own custom themes designed, for which they pay, to set them apart. And that is a key element of developing your own online business, how much are you going to pay up front to get into the ball game. Don’t be mislead by thinking it is almost free. It is not. There is a LOT of competition and your future competitors are spending money to be in the successful positions. The question becomes how much are you going to spend to speed up the process of obtaining online cash returns. More on that in future posts.
